Eye369 Approved (“the app”) is built with your privacy in mind. This policy explains what the app does with information.

No accounts, no ads, no tracking

The app does not require an account. There is no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. Nothing about you is sold or shared with advertisers.

Camera

The app uses your camera only to read product barcodes while you are scanning. Camera images are processed on your device in the moment and are never recorded, saved, or transmitted. You can deny camera access and still use the app by typing barcodes in.

Product lookups

When you scan or type a barcode, the app sends that barcode number to two services to fetch product information: Open Food Facts (openfoodfacts.org), a public, community-run food database, and Eye Heru’s own product catalog hosted on Google Firebase. Only the barcode number is sent. No name, email, location, or device identifier is attached to a lookup.

Submissions

If a barcode is not in the catalog, you may choose to submit it for review. Submitting sends only the barcode number and a short note to Eye Heru’s catalog. No personal information is included.

Grocery lists

Grocery lists you create are stored only on your device. Sharing a list uses your phone’s built-in share sheet, and what you share and with whom is entirely your choice.

Admin sign in

The app includes a sign in used only by Eye Heru to maintain the product catalog. Regular users never need to sign in and no user account data is stored.

Third parties

Open Food Facts and Google Firebase receive barcode numbers as described above and are governed by their own privacy policies. Links to eyeheru369.com and other sites open in your browser and are governed by those sites’ terms.

Children

The app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this page.
